Conceived Opel Flextreme received design award Red Dot Award



At a ceremony in Singapore concept car Opel Flextreme was awarded the prestigious award Red Dot Award for outstanding design.

The prize is awarded by the industrial products international team of design based on their own criteria for the degree of novelty, functionality and the expected quality. Note that in 2007 the award was the concept Saab Aero X.

The concept car Opel Flextreme was established in a European design center and General Motors in 2007 at the international motor show in Frankfurt. This compact van is an innovative hybrid GM with the stock move, which not so long ago was shown on the model Chevrolet Volt. With an electric motor powered with lithium-ion batteries concept can overcome the distance to 55 km. Diesel engine with a turbocharged 1.3 liter volume serves as a means of increasing the stock of progress in the discharge batteries. It also aims to generate electricity to drive a car while driving on distant routes.
